Welcome!

Hi! I’m Dr. Kelley-Cook, a board certified psychiatrist in Houston, Texas. I have a thorough, solution oriented, no-nonsense approach to psychiatry. I practice integrative psychiatry, which means I take a holistic (whole person) approach with the goal of maximizing wellness.

I believe that good psychiatric care requires working together to design a treatment plan for your individual needs.

I am here to provide the individualized and compassionate care that you deserve as a fellow human being.

You can read more about my philosophy of treatment at the link below.

What I specialize in treating:

  • Has a traumatic even disrupted your life?

Do you struggle with isolation, irritation, nightmares and feeling disconnected?

I can determine if you might have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). There are therapies and medications available to treat this problem.

I have been trained in CPT, (cognitive processing therapy) an evidence based psychotherapy for PTSD that can help you feel better in 12 weeks.

  • Anxiety and panic attacks are common and there are many treatments, typically people see improvements in symptoms within a couple months

  • For depression or mood disorders there are a wide range of treatments available and we can find something to help even if many past treatments were ineffective.

Medications for some mood disorders such as bipolar disorder often cause side effects such as weight gain and increased risk of diabetes. We can work together to minimize these risks.

  • Do you feel like you are drinking too much? Is alcohol keeping your from optimal health?

Sometimes people find it difficult to drink less, and sometimes people have a disorder that makes it harder to quit or reduce alcohol.

If you want to try medications that can reduce your cravings for alcohol without making you sick I can help.

If you want to try a therapy to help reduce your drinking I can help.

  • Examples:

Ruling out a thyroid condition that can mimic depression and anxiety

Depression related to traumatic brain injury (TBI) and stroke

Mental health problems when you also have kidney or liver disease

Autoimmune disease (lupus, thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis) inflammation worsening mental health

    Chronic pain worsening mental health

  • Are you struggling with inattention? Do you have a diagnosis of or want to be screened for Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder?

  • Have you been diagnosed with a medical condition that has altered your sense of identity and/or diminished hope?

I can help you build resilience and coping skills to navigate this phase of life.

  • Need help getting back on track with a sense of purpose that gives you hope and makes you want to get out of bed in the morning?

  • Not finding your concern on this list, contact through the contact page to see if I can help

Using all the tools to get you better. This may include medications, lab testing to rule out other conditions, mind body techniques such as yoga and meditation, nutrition and dietary interventions, psychotherapy, neuromodulation techniques, light therapy, among others.

Which specific tools are recommended will depend on your values and the severity of symptoms that you have. We will discuss the options in depth - with the goal of collaborating to find a way to help you get better as quickly as possible.
